So What Can You Learn From Affiliate Rockstar Status?
I got deluged with e-mails yesterday from affiliate marketers representing the new product launch called Affiliate Rockstar Status. But if you learn anything about eBooks marketed to affiliates, it that not all advice is created equal. In fact, as often as not, these types of products are either redundant or contradictory with one another. And in some cases, the information is just poorly written, or downright useless.
So what can you really learn from Affiliate Rockstar Status?
I have a confession to make: there a couple of eBooks marketed to affiliates that I really like. Project X is one of them. I am all about ignoring affiliate advice that seems designed to upsell you on the latest product. But I want to admit that I do, occasionally, learn something new. I’m not going to argue whether the information in Project X is worth paying for, or even that it’s particularly novel. But it has a few things going for it that I have found only rarely in eBooks in its genre. One, it is clearly written. Two, it is thorough. It states each premise from start to finish. Three, it can definitely offer advice to the new affiliate.
Affiliate Rockstar Status, when judged by those same criteria, offers the same level of quality as Project X.
It’s easy to forget that affiliate marketing is a job just like any other, and that’s true whether it generates part time or full time income. When you first start out, there is always a learning curve as you figure the ins and outs of your business. And since most of us operate solo as affiliates, that means the learning curve can be pretty steep. No one starts out as an expert at affiliate marketing. So for Project X or Affiliate Rockstar Status or any other eBook to offer solid, practical information for someone who is fairly new to the industry, I rank that as a high value for the product.
Rockstar’s methods are fairly straight forward to implement, something that makes the whole process of being a “rockstar affiliate” more accessible even if we all secretly doubt that it is a universally attainable dream. I don’t buy into the hard sell that all I need is focus and determination to succeed. Sometimes, you need hard work, luck, time and capital to succeed as well. And affiliate marketing is a business just like any other, whether you are selling your own product or pitching someone else’s, so the more you have of time, luck and capital, the more your hard work pays off.
This is a stance about affiliate advice I have taken more than once. So that is why the admission that some of the eBooks really are kind of cool is a big one for me. When I read Rockstar, I was instantly impressed with the little details, like using white space to draw the eye (in the same way you would use punctuation to stand out.) The real power of its advice lies in the details like that. The book is scattered with minor, yet effective, tips and “hot secrets” which is where I found the real benefit of the so-called expert advice. And I guess when it comes down to it, what distinguishes Project X and Rockstar from other advice eBooks is pretty obvious. I feel like I am reading from an actual expert, not just someone who claims to be.
All of the information is packaged neatly into chapters that covers promoting products through Adwords, capturing e-mails from your prospective customers, and using affiliate tools to target and wrap keywords. All of these topics will sound familiar. You and I already know it because we’re already doing it. But unless you’re making profit from doing it, I’m not, there is always room to improve our methods.
I love these new eBook launches because it brings a lot of hard sell into my inbox (no, I don’t really consider anything spam) which mostly turns me off a product. Because if I learned anything about eBooks that are marketed directly to me, it is that most are not worth the time it takes to read the pitch page. So for that once in a while exception, I better jump on board with the rest of them while its still hot.
